ABOUT THE ARTIST    Fiber artist Renee Keels has been sewing all of her life.  In 2001 she developed an interest in learning to quilt upon retirement.  Coached by an experience quilter to learn “now”, she began with basic quilts to learn design and technique.  Renée began experimenting with batiks and African fabrics and found her “niche.”   Her hand-crafted art has an inspiring beauty that draws from a variety of influences, including Old World, historical references, and Afrocentric elements.  She teaches quilting to children and adults in and around New England.
